The avalanche danger should be investigated very thoroughly in the relevant locality. New snow and wind slabs especially adjacent to ridgelines in all aspects. 30 to 40 cm of snow, but less in some localities, has fallen in all altitude zones. The large quantity of fresh snow and in particular the extensive wind slabs that are forming especially on east, southeast and south slopes can be released easily or naturally. Especially adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas individual medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large slab avalanches are to be expected. 50 to 80 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen since Wednesday in all altitude zones. The new snow is lying on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack on wind-protected shady slopes above approximately 2000 m. <br/> The conditions are treacherous for backcountry touring and other off-piste activities outside marked and open pistes.
